The Prime Minister wears a Korat silk shirt to lead a mobile cabinet meeting.

Nakhon Ratchasima, The Prime Minister led the cabinet in wearing Korat silk clothing to a mobile cabinet meeting. Suwat presented the Nakhon Ratchasima Buddha image to wish for success in solving the problem. Meanwhile, the Potash mob gathered to complain and request the closure of the mine. The Minister of Industry received the letter.

Mr. Settha Thavisin, Prime Minister, chaired the 4th/2024 official cabinet meeting outside the office (mobile cabinet meeting) at the Rangsarit Rajabhat Auditorium, Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The Prime Minister and the cabinet wore plain gold silk shirts and gold-colored modified squirrel-tail mudmee silk, the signature fabric of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, woven by Pak Thong Chai District.

Before the Prime Minister arrived, a group of villagers from Non Thai, Non Sung and Dan Khun Thot districts who were affected by the potash mine had set up a protest outside the fence of Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat
University, which is next to the Rangsarit Rajabhat Auditorium, the venue for the Cabinet meeting. The crowd held signs with messages such as ‘Close the Dan Khun Thot Potash Mine,’ and shouted to demand the Prime Minister.

Later at 9:35 a.m., the Prime Minister arrived at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University. The Prime Minister’s motorcade changed routes to enter at the back of the Rangsarit Rajabhat Auditorium building, and the Prime Minister walked up through the back door immediately, causing the ministers waiting at the front to know that the Prime Minister had gone up, to walk up to the meeting room.

While the Prime Minister originally planned to visit the exhibition in front of the Rangsarit Rajabhat Auditorium before the cabinet meeting, he canceled the mission at that location because it was close to the point where the protesters had gathered and were shouting and demanding at intervals. At 9:50 a.m., the Prime Minister assigned Ms. Pimpattra Wichaikul, Minister of Industry, and Mr. Somkid Chuekon
g, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs, to negotiate with the protesters and accept their demands.

The Prime Minister then took a group photo with the Cabinet, the governors of the lower northeastern region 1 (Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Buriram and Surin) and government agencies in front of the Rajabhat Rangsarit Auditorium, while Mr. Suwat Liptapanlop, advisor to the Chart Pattana Party, presented a replica of the Phra Chai Muang Nakhon Ratchasima Buddha statue to the Prime Minister as a souvenir on the occasion of his visit to Korat. Mr. Suwat said that he wished the Prime Minister success in solving various problems, while the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude and said, ‘Let’s help each other, brother.’

Before entering the cabinet meeting room, a group of students came to give roses to encourage the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister took a photo with the group of students in a friendly manner. The Prime Minister turned to emphasize to the group of students to st
ay away from drugs. And there were people who came to give the Prime Minister 11 Sri sarongs, meaning the people of Phu Khiao from all 11 sub-districts of Phu Khiao District, which are sarongs with a unique weaving style, with the edges of the sarongs woven with khit or hand-woven mudmee fabric from Chaiyaphum Province. The Prime Minister said that the beautiful colors match the Pride Month.

The Prime Minister then chaired an official cabinet meeting outside the office. The meeting’s agenda consisted of 1 provincial group agenda, 5 agendas for consideration, 4 agendas for information if there were no objections, 3 agendas for information, and 1 agenda for information.
