Chang Phueak police chased and intercepted a white pickup truck with a Phrae license plate after the driver threatened the other party in a covered pickup truck that cut him off. Both the victim and the police chased him from the Superhighway at the Juvenile Court intersection for almost 4 kilometers until the pickup truck drove into the Chiang Mai Provincial Government Center and circled around several times. Officers told him that if he did not stop, they would shoot the tires. Finally, the driver agreed to stop in front of the Chiang Mai Provincial Court, but he still refused to get out of the car. Officers tried to persuade him for about 5 minutes before he surrendered. A search of the car found a 9 mm. pistol. The driver showed his pawnshop
officer card and a gun license, which had expired.
The officers therefore took him to Chang Phueak Police Station for legal proceedings. Initial charges were being filed for carrying a firearm into a city, village, and public road without proper reason. As for the other party, the police advised him to file a complaint at Mae Ping Police Station regarding the threats
